2024 Milan Design Week inspirations
The curtain has come down on the Salone del Mobile 2024 stage and Milan is returning to its normal rhythm of life. As every year, Milan Design Week invited manufacturers, designers and fashion designers to present the latest and the curious to look at the trends of the coming year. For several years in a row, our team also visits Milan, we share our insights on what, in our eyes, will be extremely relevant this year.
Colors - dark brown, earthy brown and moss green shades, these colors prevail both in the kitchen and in the dining and living areas. The colors are rich and often with an aged metal structure.
Stainless steel - a material that is back with a bang dominates kitchens and dining spaces. Aged, brushed, sanded or polished, stainless steel in all its forms will be one of the most used metal materials, pushing brass and copper from the first shelf.
Glass - corrugated, structured, textured or openwork. There will be a lot of glass and it will be varied and used not only for facades, but also for table tops or individual details. Mirrors also dominate all spaces. Aging and toning.
A tree - ribbed or milled with vertical spots, solid wood or veneered MDF panels - dominate kitchen designs. Toned in relevant dark brown or brown colors, the wood surface takes on a sophisticated luxury.
Stone - travertine, granite and quartzite. Natural stone will be abundant and expressive as never before. Bold pink, green or black veined granites become the focal point of the kitchen. Polished surfaces dominate. The stone countertops are massive, with one-piece built-in sinks.
Kitchens - modular islands with a sliding table top, the synergy of glass, stone, wood and stainless steel creates extremely interesting combinations and never-before-seen solutions. Technologies - a hob hidden under the table top, a coffee machine integrated into the mixer, ovens with artificial intelligence for recognizing dishes. These and similar functions are already becoming everyday, and not the futurism of the distant future. The future is near.
Fashion - Loewe, Hermes, Bottega Veneta, Gucci and other haute couture houses put down roots in design week. Collaborations with interior designers - special fabrics, furniture and accessories are created. The world of fashion becomes an integral part of the interior. Auto - As in the fashion sphere, representatives of the auto world do not want to miss the world's biggest design event. Porsche, Bugatti, Bentley collaborations with interior designers are already becoming an annual phenomenon.
