Sculpture "Newborn" | Goda Litvinaitė Aleknė

€300,00
Title:

Black pottery—one of the oldest forms of clay firing, dating back to the Neolithic era—is now a dying art. The process involves slowly raising the temperature of a kiln dug into the ground to remove moisture before adding firewood to initiate the firing. As the clay absorbs smoke and fine particles, its pores seal, resulting in a unique, distinctive black surface. The process takes several days and is subject to the unpredictable elements of nature, making every piece one-of-a-kind.

* This is a unique, original artwork.
